Story
CRE8IVE Like My Father was established in 2019 by Crystal Bell and Josie Taylor, two best friends who shared a common goal of making a positive impact on the youth in their community of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Crystal, with her experience as a youth leader across several youth centers in Milwaukee, and Josie, a dedicated child care teacher who had built strong relationships within the city's childcare facilities, came together with a passion to provide opportunities for young people who may be struggling, whether due to homelessness or other challenges.
Operating as an LLC company, CRE8IVE Like My Father's mission is to empower youth starting with aged 12-24 by helping them recognize and cultivate their natural talents, ultimately turning these talents into viable streams of income. The organization takes an innovative approach, blending talent discovery, entrepreneurship education, and financial literacy into a comprehensive program.
Through strategic partnerships with entities such as Chayil Inc. and youth programs in Milwaukee, CRE8IVE Like My Father aims to address gaps in existing services and extend its reach to every corner of the city. Moreover, the organization has long-term aspirations of expanding its services to elementary schools, catering to younger age groups, and establishing revenue streams for individuals who facilitate its courses.
The core team at CRE8IVE Like My Father comprises passionate educators, mentors, and business professionals committed to the cause of youth empowerment. They intend to develop a curriculum aligned with state educational standards and informed by best practices in talent development and entrepreneurship education.
